New Home To Roost

Hello everyone! First I'd like to say thank you for your lovely comments on my Butterfly Wishes card.

This week Stampendous gals are sharing various sneak peeks from the October 2013 and January 2014 releases. Today I'd like to share a card I made for my friends as a house warming gift using the October release Rooster Elements.

My friends once lived near a house with chickens and they used to get woken up every morning at 4.00AM by their neighbours' rooster. So I thought I would make a card with a suitable image so they can fondly remember their old place...:-P.

To add to my rooster/countryside theme I decided to use a chalkboard look, inspired by the card shared by Tobi Crawford here. Except for my chalkboard 'dust' I used chalk pencils and Picket Fence Distress Stain.

The full instructions will be available on the Stampendous blog so for now I'll just list the supplies.

Stampendous:
Cling Rooster Elements
Vintage Lowercase Perfectly Clear stamps
White Detail Embossing Powder
Red and Green Encrusted Jewel Kits

Other:
Picket Fence Distress Stain
Prima papers
ribbon and burlap trim
3D foam squares - Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

So what are your 'new beginnings' for this year?

Thank you for visiting today and for letting me know you've been here :). Have a fabulous crafty week!

Big hugs

Pozdrawiam

Oh, he is magnificent - and you've certainly given him a worthy setting too... Gorgeous banner (love how it looks like shabby roof tiles in the angled photo), and fantastic rustic colours and textures - this is a joy!
